At Chips JU, certain activities require the processing of your personal information. This processing is carried out to serve a variety of purposes essential to our operations. In this regard, Chips JU processes personal data collected according to the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2018/1725 (EU-GDPR) on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data by the Union institutions, bodies, offices, and agencies and on the free movement of such data. The new data protection rules applicable to the EU institutions are in line with those in the General Data Protection Regulation, applicable to EU member states. The new rules aim to make the EU institutions more accountable in the way they process personal data.
Chips JU, as a controller, shall maintain a record of processing activities under its responsibility in a central register. In addition, for reasons of transparency, Chips JU shall make the register publicly accessible (article 31(5) of Regulation (EU) 2018/1725). Furthermore, Chips JU shall take appropriate measures to provide transparent information, communication, and modalities for the exercise of the rights of the data subject (articles 14 to 16 of Regulation (EU) 2018/1725). Exercising your data protection rights
Should your personal data be proccessed by Chips JU you wish to exercise your rights under data protection law, we require that your request be submitted in writing. We are unable to accept verbal requests, whether made by telephone or in person, as these do not allow us to properly assess your request or verify your identity in accordance with legal requirements.
You may submit your written request to Chips JU either by sending it in a sealed envelope via postal mail or by emailing it to DPO[at]chips-ju.europa.eu. To facilitate the efficient handling of your request, please ensure that it includes a detailed and precise description of the personal data in question, as well as any other relevant information that will assist us in identifying the data.
